Maria Vega

My name is María Vega, and I am a passionate specialist in Special Educational Needs (SEN), a trained ABA practitioner, and, above all, a mother of a neurodivergent child, who has been my greatest teacher.

With over a decade of experience supporting children with autism and ADHD, I combine academic knowledge with lived experience.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Educational Needs from the University of East London, and I have completed certified training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) through Alison.

My approach is always gentle, respectful, and tailored to each child’s unique rhythm.

Calm Steps Consulting was born from a deep desire to walk alongside families, helping them build structure, confidence, and calm connection in daily life.

My Story

Hi, I’m María.
Founder of Calm Steps Consulting, special educator, and a mother with deep personal experience in the autism journey.

My path began at home — supporting my own son with autism — where I discovered the power of structure, visuals, and gentle routines. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to helping other families find the same sense of calm and confidence.

With a Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and training in Applied Behavior Analysis, I’ve created Calm Steps as a place where families feel safe, supported, and seen.

This isn’t just my work — it’s my calling. And I’m so honoured to walk this journey with you.
